To Whom it May Concern

Sometime, when you’re feeling important,

Sometime when your ego’s in bloom,

Sometime, when you take it for granted

You’re the best qualified in the room

Sometime when you feel that your going

Would leave an infallible hole

Just follow this simple instruction

And see how it humbles the soul.

Take a bucket and fill it with water

Put your hand in it, up to the wrist;

Pull it out and the hole that’s remaining

Is a measure of how you’ll be missed.

You may splash all you please when you enter,

You can stir up the water galore,

But stop, and you’ll find in a minute,

That it looks quite the same as before.

The moral of the quaint example

Is do just the best you can

Be proud of yourself, but remember

There’s no indispensable man.

Today

Today I will be happy and radiate a feeling of strength and confidence to everyone I meet
Today I will not allow negative input to infect my mind.
Today I will control my thoughts and I expect wonderful things to happen to me.
Today I will follow the golden rule and treat everyone the way I want to be treated.
Today I will be thankful for my blessings and not spend time complaining about what I don’t have.
Today I will act enthusiastic and thus I’ll become enthusiastic.
Today I will win – because I have faith, courage and enthusiasm.
Today I will not be denied greater achievement because life is a matter of choices and
Today I choose to be the person I wish to become.

Miss me – but let me go

When I come to the end of the road
And the Sun has set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom – filled room,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long,
And not with your head bowed too low.
Remember the love that we once shared.
Miss me – but let me go.
For this journey that we must all take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all part of the master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And bury your sorrow in doing good deeds.
Miss me – but let me go.
